This is my third year as a Spanish Teacher at West Morris Central. In my previous life I spent 20 years of my life producing commercials, editing promotions and designing graphics at Telemundo/NBC Television. They laid me off and what a mistake that was...huge ratings drop-off.

I was able to complete my teacher certification while I was on the unemployment line and here I am.
I also am a professional soccer official and in 2006 I achieved my goal of being a referee at the World Cup in Germany. I regularly officiate in Major League Soccer around the USA. Yes, I have met Beckham several times, but not Posh. My refereeing career has taken me to many countries around the world and knowing Spanish has helped me tremendously.

Mi Familia

I basically am a native speaker although I was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado. My parents were missionaries in Argentina when I was young and that is where I learned the language. Being bilingual has great advantages in the world today and has helped me be successful.
I have been married for 23 years and never had a fight with my lovely wife Kristina. She's the cute blond behind me in the photo.
I have a son who is a junior at Bethel University in MN, a daughter (Roxbury HS homecoming Queen 2006) who is attending Palm Beach Atlantic University, FL. and one more beautiful daughter who is a sophomore at Roxbury HS. She is not allowed to date any boys until I am dead, so don't ask. I put in this picture of my family all bored last summer when I forced them on a bike ride in California. They think their Dad is hilarious.
I also have a dog and a cat. The dog barks at night and the cat leaves dead animals at my doorstep.

Speaking Spanish

The most important part of speaking any language is getting your message across and as new learners you are bound to make mistakes.
DON’T BE AFRAID OF MAKING MISTAKES it is part of learning. The idea is to make yourself understood, to communicate. So, if you want to impress me, then use Spanish as often as you can in class. (Outside of class is good, too.)
You will find that I am very easy to work with and together we can reach our objective; to be able to apply and use Spanish in your life and value Hispanic history and culture.
